California & Nevada – September 2, 2025 – The Military Animal Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting veterans with the healing power of animals, has launched a new website at militaryanimalproject.com. The site represents the organization’s ongoing commitment to provide free, life-changing programs and resources for veterans living with Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Military Sexual Trauma (MST), anxiety, depression, and physical disabilities.

The website offers a streamlined design, updated program information, and new ways for veterans and supporters to engage with the mission. Features include clear entry points for veterans seeking services, opportunities for volunteers and donors to get involved, and inspiring impact stories showcasing the difference animal companions make in the lives of veterans.

The launch of the new site also reflects the lasting influence of Co-Founder and Executive Director Bob Horrell, who passed away in December 2024. Bob’s leadership helped establish MAP’s foundation and vision, and his legacy continues to guide the organization as it grows.

“This new website is both a milestone and a promise,” said Mardu Lydick, Founder and President. “It honors Bob’s vision while demonstrating our commitment to every veteran we serve. Bob believed that the bond between a veteran and an animal could restore hope and purpose, and that belief continues to shape everything we do. With this site, it is now easier than ever for veterans, volunteers, and supporters to connect with our programs and carry forward the work he loved.”

Looking to the future, the Military Animal Project is expanding its reach in California and Nevada, with plans underway to enhance its healing facility in Reno, NV. By transforming rescue dogs into Emotional Support Dogs, Psychiatric Service Dogs, and Certified Therapy Dogs, the organization creates powerful connections that restore hope and dignity for veterans while giving animals a second chance at life.

The Military Animal Project invites veterans in need of support, as well as community members who want to get involved, to visit militaryanimalproject.com to learn more.
