Military Animal Project (MAP) has a unique opportunity to positively impact the lives of many of our Nation’s Warriors through the use of animal services/support.
Whenever possible, MAP works with animal rescue organizations and local shelters, professionally training and pairing dogs with veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder – PTS(D), Traumatic Brain Injury – TBI, Depression and Anxiety who could benefit from an Emotional Support Dog or Psychiatric Service Dog. Our goal – “Healing Vets, Saving Shelter Pets”.
In addition, we offer our Equine Buddies Program (EBP). EBP is an intensive onsite confidence building program helping the Veteran form a close bond with the horse and is an insight on how to earn trust & respect in order to gain leadership qualities. Lastly, we also provide Certified Therapy Dogs that will visit veteran’s, including but not limited to – nursing homes, assisted living, rehabilitation, therapy sessions, hospitals, hospice facilities, Vet Centers and also in the privacy of their homes. During our Equine Buddies Program, Certified Therapy Dogs are also on sight to assist the Veterans. With a dedicated volunteer team, MAP is changing the lives of animals and veterans, one match at a time.
Healing Those Who Have Served.
