Military Animal Project is committed to helping veterans keep and care for their beloved companion animals—especially when life becomes unpredictable. From short-term fostering and emergency boarding to veterinary care, grooming, and pet supply assistance, our services provide a safety net for veterans and their pets. We understand that the human-animal bond is essential to emotional well-being, and no veteran should have to choose between their own health and their pet’s care. Whether facing hospitalization, a housing transition, or unexpected hardship, MAP is here with practical support to keep veterans and their animals together.

Who We serve

Eligible U.S. Veterans and their household pets—including service animals and emotional support animals.

What we Provide

Fostering & Boarding

Safe, temporary care for your pet during hospitalization, training, relocation, or other emergencies. We place animals with trusted fosters or partner boarding facilities so you can focus on what’s next—without worrying about your best friend.

Veterinary Care

Help coordinating essential care—wellness exams, vaccinations, medications, and urgent needs—through our network of supportive providers. We work to remove barriers so pets get the care they deserve.

Grooming

Basic grooming to keep pets clean, healthy, and comfortable. Services may include baths, nail trims, ear care, and coat maintenance, tailored to each animal’s needs

Pet Food & Supplies

Access to an emergency pet pantry with food, litter, and basic supplies (leashes, collars, crates, and more as available), so no pet goes without.
