Unleashing Healing: Certified Therapy Dog Teams for Veterans
Military Animal Project works exclusively with Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD) teams. Certified insured therapy dog teams are dogs who go with their owners to volunteer in settings such as schools, hospitals, and nursing homes. From working with a child who is learning to read to visiting a senior in assisted living, therapy dogs and their owners work together as a team to improve the lives of other people. Therapy dogs are not service dogs.
Our Certified/Insured Therapy Dog Teams will visit veteran’s, including but not limited to:
- Nursing homes
- Assisted living
- Rehabilitation
- Therapy sessions
- Hospitals
- Hospice facilities
- Vet Centers
- Military funerals
- MAP’s Equine Buddies Program
- And in the privacy of the Veterans home
The dogs are tested, certified, registered, and insured through professional therapy dog organizations such as. Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD).
