Healing vets, Saving Shelter Pets

Military Animal Project (MAP) has a unique opportunity to positively impact the lives of many of our nation's warriors through the use of animal services and support. MAP works with animal rescue organizations and local shelters to train and pair dogs with veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), anxiety, and depression, by providing them with Emotional Support Dogs or Psychiatric Service Dogs. MAP’s Certified Therapy Dogs are capable of visiting various settings which allows veterans to experience our Equine Buddies Program that helps them build confidence and leadership skills by forming bonds with horses. Join MAP in supporting our nation’s heros.

Veteran stories

  • “Wow, what a journey this has been, one that I couldn’t have predicted had I tried. I’ve never felt that I’ve underestimated an animal as much as she has proven that I have. She has been there when I was at my limits of frustration from the stresses in my life. These were no different than the stressors before, except instead of experiencing these things alone, I now felt like I had the backing of an amazing organization, a powerfully important woman, and a beautiful black dog named Rubi. I can’t thank you all enough for the gift you’ve given me.”

Donate to Military Animal Project Today!

MAP continues to grow in all areas of veteran animal support services. But we need your help. With your generous donation, all of our veteran programs will continue to be at NO COST to the veterans now and in the future.

UPCOMING 2024 GOALS:
With the installation of electrical at the new MAP Facility (scheduled w/NV Energy 1st quarter 2024), we will then be able to have the veterans stay on-site at the facility during MAP programs. This will open up the opportunity to travel in veterans throughout California and Nevada.
  • Short Term - Housing would be in individual RVs (with the new electrical)
  • Long Term - Housing in small single person cabins built on the property.
  • Building a large covered Arena and Round Pen for Equine Buddies Program (EBP). Allowing EBP to continue through Winter (snow & rain).
  • Dog Training/Shelter Facility – a building/structure to house adopted shelter/rescue dogs in training & a place for boarding dogs while veterans get the inpatient, hospital/surgical and recovery care they need.
  • Map chapters nationwide and/or traveling in veterans to the MAP Facility from other States.
We appreciate your support and look forward to working with our local veterans.
